Meant as a spark to initiate dynamics of change, the project „ Garden Block“ is a simple and modest initiator of transformation, a small garden unit designed for the allotment gardens. A geometrical form, „ Garden Block“ is a self-standing structure for seedlings: vegetables, fruits or flowers are planted directly in the unit – in all cavities. ( We picked Fragaria ananassa -strawberries and Mentha piperita – mint). The structure is sustainable, made of natural materials: pressed Jute holding together with starch, without chemicals.  The unit will deteriorate through time. A somehow three-dimensional Tetris, it can be combined with other units vertically or horizontally –Gardeners can arrange the garden space, even use it as a replacement to the fences that are used for every garden boundary.
As an initiative stimulus, „ Garden Block“ is introducing inovative design with practical function that may inspire gardeners and attract public attention. It is the first element towards change.
